La Marineta Casiana Beach
“Did you know that La Marineta Casiana is ideal for families and perfect for water sports? Discover everything this unique sandy beach in Las Rotas has to offer.”

Located in the southern part of Denia, next to the Marina, lies the only sandy beach in Las Rotas — La Marineta Casiana. It’s an ideal destination for those seeking a sandy beach close to the city with calm waters. This beach stands out for its pleasant promenade and its excellent conditions for families. It has been awarded the Blue Flag in recognition of the quality of its waters and the services it offers.
Description
Located at the beginning of the Denia area known as Las Rotas, La Marineta Casiana Beach is a curved bay with soft brown sand and a wide pedestrian promenade. At both ends there are large breakwaters that help keep the sea calm throughout the year. You also need to walk quite a few metres before the water becomes deep, making it ideal for learning to swim, almost like being in a natural swimming pool. One of its most distinctive features is the presence of posidonia seagrass meadows just a few metres from the shore, which make the water clearer than on other sandy beaches and allow you to observe marine life.
The beach can be divided into two distinct areas, which we’ll describe below.
The first section, closest to the town centre, begins at the Marina de Denia. It’s the widest stretch of sand and tends to be the busiest due to its proximity to the city and a nearby hotel. This is also the area with the most facilities, including a beach bar and public toilets. You’ll also find plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as free public parking.
The second section is much longer but narrower. In the past, it extended much further, but over the years some of its sandy surface has been lost. Even so, it remains long enough to ensure it’s never overcrowded, even in high season. This is a quieter area but still offers all the amenities of an urban beach. There is also free public parking at the southern end.

Activities
If you love water sports, La Marineta Casiana is the perfect spot for you. Thanks to its calm waters, this beach is very popular for practising paddle surfing, kayaking or canoeing. Its peaceful conditions allow both beginners and experienced enthusiasts to enjoy these activities without the worry of strong currents or big waves.
One of the features that makes La Marineta Casiana a special beach is its rich marine life. By snorkelling, you can easily find extensive meadows of posidonia seagrass, an underwater plant that not only keeps the water beautifully clear but also shelters a great variety of marine species. These meadows are vital for the health of the marine ecosystem and make swimming here a truly unique experience.
Beach fitness activities take place from 1 July to 31 August. The Department of Sports offers visitors the chance to enjoy a full programme of physical activities to stay in shape while taking advantage of the cooler hours of the day.
